Thanks for your support!
Undefeated featherweight, Golden Boy Promotions boxer, Ronny Rios 20-0, 9 KOs, recently beat Rico Ramos (21-1, 11 KOs), former WBA super bantamweight world champion of Los Angeles, to win the vacant NABF featherweight championship belt at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, CA. Ronny won the 10-round decision over Ramos in their Showtime-televised main event with scores of 97-93, 100-90 and 96-94.
Ronny, 22 years of age, is promoted by Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions and is trained by Hector Lopez of the TKO Boxing Club. As an amateur, Ronny won many national championships and competed in the 2008 Olympic Trials.
ALEXIS ROCHA, of the TKO Boing Club, recently beat his opponent from Colorado to win the gold medal in the Regional Silver Gloves championship held in Pasadena, CA. The following day he flew to Reno, NV to compete in the Jr. World Boxing Tournament, where he beat Edgar Berlanga of Brooklyn, NY, in the finals to win the gold medal there as well. He will be training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO in July to prepare for a competition in the Ukraine in August.
Alexis has been a member at TKO for approximately 2 ½ years ago and is trained by Coach Hector Lopez. He is a 15-year old student at Segerstrom High School. His older brother, undefeated Ronny Rios, who fights for Golden Boy Promotions, recently won the NABF championship belt at Fantasy Springs Casino which was televised on Showtime.
On September 30th, Ronny Rios, Luis Ramos and Jose Sanchez, three pros who train at the TKO Boxing Club, will be fighting at the OC Hangar in Costa Mesa… this is a first for Roy Englebrecht/Golden Boy Promotions, to have THREE OC/Santa Ana boxers on the same card! No doubt, this will be a sold-out event. The last time one of our boys fought at the OC Hangar, we had a blast and there was standing-room only! PLUS, there’s an awesome Happy Hour at the Baja Blues next door to the venue from 5:30 to 6:30pm .
You may purchase tickets through us, saving Ticketmaster fees, and at the same time helping the TKO youth as this is a fundraiser for us. We will be receiving a portion of the money from each ticket sold. Tickets are $30.00 each.
Come join us on Friday, September 30th, to support and cheer three of Santa Ana’s most talented, physically fit and courageous young boxers on to victory!!
FYI: Last month Ronny KO’d his opponent in Las Vegas in one minute and 12 seconds. Last week, Jose KO’d his in the second round at the Nokia in LA!
