Breaking news at TKO Boxing Club! After a five month break following a personal tragedy Luis Ramos Jr. made a triumphant return to the ring. September 8, 2012, Ramos left little doubt that he is a force to be reckoned with. In a scheduled 10 round bout Ramos (23-0) systematically broke down his opponent, stopping Noe Bolanos in the eighth round. The crowd at the Hanger at the OC Fairgrounds saw a determined Ramos start the fight with a big first round. Bolanos was cut over his right eye by a series of jabs. Ramos was cut in the third round by a head butt, the excellent work of his corner kept it under control. Working behind his jab proved to be an effective weapon for Ramos and it opened things for him in the later rounds. With his trainer Hector Lopez in his corner, Ramos was reminded to stay on task, stick to the game plan. “I got in there, mixed it up a little bit and I took him out.” Fighting as a junior welterweight (140) “felt good” said Ramos,”I felt strong, my speed showed and I didn’t have to kill myself to make weight”
